Well since a lot ask me about ports and such atm and call me a littel greedy thingy. I've decided to share a bit, some might know the things im going to write for others it will be something new.
first thing you need to keep in mind is ur time, if you got long voyages and is in the same timezone as me (gtm+1) then you might do them over night to save the time they would take later, quiet usefull when you start get 12+ hr voyages.
Remember you can always change isle you want to go to in Port mangenment
Distance:
The arc: voyages between 175 - 375 in distance and 14 to 30min trips. this is here you get bamboo from ( you'll need a decent amount of this)
the skull: voyages between 420 - 900 distance and time from 45min to 70min. this is where you get gun powder from
the hook: 840- 1800 distance and time from 90 - 142mins this is where you get slate from. ( you'll need a lot of this)
the scythe: 1680 - 3600 distance times from 200 to 282 mins voyages. this is where you get cherrywood from, and you're gona need a ton of it trust me
The bowl: 3360 - 7200 distance, times from 410 to 564 mins voyages, here you get jade which you'll also need an fair amount of.
- Uniqe voyages always give max distance.
Things you should keep in mind: the fastest time is when ur ship has max speed for the isle ur at and can vary depending on if its a short or long voyage.
ALSO: the time for special and trade good voyages are 50% higher than normal voyages and require about 25% more speed to get time reduced.
bored yet? hope not xD
My tip is to start out with upgrade the things on ship which give speed -> crew -> ship -> port
About randoms, tips and tricks. after each voyage between return and send, if you send one ship a time/take rewards close the interface, you infact got a higher chance for an random through its a bit more time waste. the same when you buy crew this can also unlock random events.
the randoms give some usefull rewards, i rarely use any of them myself others than the Furtune of the sea 10% more reward/penalties from ship voyages 1x a ship and it never ends! and lotus tint specters 50% more crew xp.
if you never use any of the others, you got a FAIRLY HIGHER CHANCE for voyage reroll, adventure and captain reroll <-- this is why some of us got a huge progress ow secret leaked sorry
^^ - Later on you can make totems which helps you get randoms, gain better xp ect ect ect.
Trade goods are used to make schimshaws, armour nor food with: spice food, bones for schims, plate for melee, chi for mage and laqure for range armour.
About crew theres some very usefull ones:
The first mate, and the other upgrades versions of him he gives a bonus to all on ship +25 - 50 - 75 to other crews stats.
cyclops + feral, whale rider, can give an bonus xp to the crew on the ship
sea witch, can return dead people back to life
merchants: the higher merchant the better rewards from voyages shes on.
speed crew, very usefull at some points, but i rarely use them, but usefull if you can max ship out and got spare space.
palmist, smootsayer ect - gives a higher chance for random events.
I dont know if i forgot something, but feel free to ask question enjoy
